Jonas gritted his teeth and slowed as he entered the small village in the dark of the late, moonless night. Nivadale was much father away from Magestic then he had thought. "Why didn't I ride a horse?"

Momentarily he considered rousing one of the villagers to obtain a hot meal and a warm bed, but he thought better of it. The townspeople of Nivadale had a reputation of intolerance at best. "I must find Malagon." he yawned, "...but first I need rest."

This is for a two-part commission. I was asked to create two mermaid paintings inspired by the vintage work of the wonderful artist Sarah S. Stilwell Weber in my own style. The original images were shown on Collier's magazine covers in the early 1900s.

I was very grateful for the excuse to work on some art :D I have been so tied up in my doll business and sculpting that I haven't had time to paint in a very long time until this opportunity came.
