This is a submission to the Merbaby contest at which is to turn her beautiful daughter Lyra into a mermaid :)

I have a two-year-old of my own and I created this image to capture how I often feel throughout the day as I rescue my child from random dangers. Thing is, he does not see the danger. It is a wide world of interesting and beautiful things to him. For a mother, the challenge is to know when to intervene and when to let a child learn through their own experiences.

very stunning - wow - it looks so real and lifelike and I can just see a little merman heading right for that butterfly not knowing it was a trap! Very well done!
